Albanian Minister may lose her personal appearance

A legal dispute is raging in Albania over the image of the so-called "AI minister" Diella. Actress Anila Bisha, whose likeness and voice were used as the basis for the digital character, has filed a lawsuit against the government and a private company involved in the project. The lawsuit stems from the expiration of her contract on December 31, 2025. According to Bisha, the government continued to use her likeness beyond the agreed-upon terms and scope, which she claims has caused her significant and irreversible damage.
The digital likeness was initially intended to be used exclusively within the e-Albania government services portal. However, according to court documents cited by Politico, the use has expanded. Bisha is seeking a temporary injunction preventing further use of her likeness until the trial is resolved. The government disputes the claims: cabinet spokesperson Manjoli Hasa called the lawsuit "absurd" and stated her readiness to settle the matter in court.
Albania previously announced the creation of the world's first "AI minister," who was supposed to oversee public procurement and promote a "100% incorruptible" system. Prime Minister Edi Rama actively promoted the project, but President Bajram Begaj did not approve the digital candidate for the government. The prime minister later introduced Diella's "assistants". Now, the future of this virtual official is in question due to a dispute over the rights to his likeness.
