Belarus is ready to join the project to build Uzbekistan's first nuclear power plant and become the country's technological partner in developing nuclear energy. This was announced by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting with the Uzbek ambassador.

According to the head of state, Belarusian specialists are ready to share their experience gained during the construction and operation of their own nuclear power plant. This includes not only consulting support but also deeper technological cooperation, including training specialists and transferring practical expertise.

Lukashenko noted that Belarusian nuclear scientists are already participating in projects with their Russian partners at various sites around the world. If necessary, Uzbek specialists can come to study their experience and train personnel. Such cooperation, he said, will accelerate the implementation of the nuclear project in the country.

Uzbekistan's first nuclear power plant is planned for construction in the Jizzakh Region near Lake Tuzkan, with the participation of Rosatom. The complex, which includes a large and a small station, is expected to provide power supply to three regions by 2028–2029 and reduce the load on the existing power grid.
