DeepSeek’s Chinese AI chat bot faced a global outage that lasted more than seven hours, according to Bloomberg. The company had to issue several updates to restore operations. According to the Downdetector service, users started reporting problems on Sunday evening. The official website of the startup recorded two incidents: the first lasted about two hours, the second - more than seven.

The failure affected also Russian users, where DeepSeek is one of the most popular neuronetworks. In 24 hours, Downdetector received more than 48,000 complaints from Russia, making this one of the biggest app disruptions of late. The first stop was fixed from 4:40 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., the second from 7:20 p.m. until the morning of March 30.

The reasons for the outage remain unclear - the company did not respond to the agency’s request. This long-term instability is not typical for DeepSeek: since the launch in January 2025, the service has been nearly 99% operational.
