Tether has transferred 204.3 bitcoins, valued at $14.36 million, to the Bitfinex cryptocurrency exchange. Analysts at EmberCN suggest that this transaction signals an impending sale of the asset. Currently, the issuer's wallet retains 96,936 BTC worth approximately $6.72 billion, with an unrealized profit of $1.75 billion based on an average purchase price of $51,300 per coin.

This transfer stands out against Tether's previous strategy of allocating up to 15% of quarterly profits to regular bitcoin purchases. The last major reserve addition from the exchange occurred in April, while a prior reduction in the balance from 100,000 to 90,000 BTC was explained by CEO Paolo Ardoino as a transfer to the affiliated company Twenty One Capital.

Today, Twenty One Capital holds 43,514 BTC, ranking second among public corporate holders behind Strategy. Tether's actions are unfolding amid heightened scrutiny of corporate reserves, particularly after Strategy recently sold 32 bitcoins for $2.5 million at an average price of $77,135 per coin.
