The CEO of OpenAI, Sam Altman, presented the key guidelines that guide the company in creating universal artificial intelligence. The main goal is to prevent monopolization of technology and distribute its benefits to as many people as possible. According to Altman, a future without decentralization risks being controlled by a narrow group of corporations that owns the superintelligence.
The first principle is democratization: decisions about AI should be made through democratic procedures, not in laboratories. The second principle is empowerment: AI is designed to help everyone realize their potential, with the company committed to minimizing the risks involved - from catastrophic to negligible.
The third principle is shared prosperity. To do this, states need to rethink economic models, and businesses need to invest in infrastructure and lower costs. The fourth principle is sustainability: no single laboratory can deal with new threats like pathogen creation or cyber attack alone, so global cooperation is needed. Finally, the fifth principle is adaptability: OpenAI recognizes its increased role and is willing to adjust the course as new data emerge, even sacrificing the pace of development for security.
