Domestic consumer prices continue to rise more slowly than in previous periods. According to the Ministry of Economic Development, for the week from February 25 to March 2, inflation was 0.08%, and the annual rate fell from 5.81% to 5.72%. The department noted that the final data could be refined after the publication of the February statistics by Rosstat on 13 March.

In the food sector, price growth slowed to 0.04%, from 0.13% a week earlier. The main reason is a 0.5% decline in the cost of horticultural products, following a slight increase last week. Cucumbers (minus 7.1%) and apples (minus 0.2%) were the most cheap. At the same time, tomatoes (+3.8%), carrots (+2.5%), cabbages (+1.4%) and potatoes (+1.1%) continued to gain ground.

Prices rose by 0.06% in the non-food segment and by 0.09% in services.
