The Government of Belarus has increased the amount of subsistence allowance for workers on official travel within the country. The changes come into force on 4 April and are enshrined in government decree No. 176 of 19 March 2026. From this day, the daily subsistence allowance for those on mission inside the republic is set at a total of 13 rubles.
Also clarified the procedure for compensation of rental expenses. If the employer in the order specified that the employee will live in another location (not the same as the place of business), reimbursement of accommodation costs is possible only with supporting documents.
The new rules apply to business trips started before 4 April but ending after that date. For example, an employee left on April 1 and returned on April 10 - starting from April 4, the daily subsistence allowance and housing payments are calculated according to updated standards. However, for the days starting from 4 April, reimbursement of accommodation costs is made only upon presentation of supporting documents.
