Inflation in Russia slowed to 5.79%

From March 11 to 16, inflation in Russia was 0.08%, with the annual rate falling to 5.79% from 5.84% the previous week, according to data from the Russian Ministry of Economic Development.

In the food sector, price growth slowed to 0.05%. However, the dynamics were mixed: cucumber prices fell by 7.6%, while tomatoes rose by 3.7% and carrots by 2.7%.

Egg prices also increased by 1.7%, as did sugar and salt (+0.5%). Meanwhile, the price of chicken meat decreased by 0.6%.

In the non-food sector, prices increased by 0.11%, and in the service sector by 0.08%, reflecting moderate inflationary pressure. Overall, the dynamics indicate a gradual slowdown in inflation, although certain segments with increased price volatility remain.
