Ethereum is preparing for a new phase of technological development that should boost network performance, improve compatibility of its components, and enhance data protection. Upcoming changes aim to improve the interaction between the core blockchain and second-tier solutions that are used to scale the ecosystem.
The preparation of updates was reported by Ethereum co-founder and head of Consensys Joseph Lubin. According to him, the developers are focused on implementing new cryptographic mechanisms that can make data exchange between different levels of the network faster and safer.
One of the key areas of modernization will be the development of zero-disclosure evidence technology. This method allows the validation of information without disclosing its content, which significantly enhances security and confidentiality in transactions.
Developers are particularly keen to protect blockchain bridges through which users transfer assets between different networks. Such solutions have repeatedly been the target of large hacker attacks, so improving their reliability is considered a priority. The application of new cryptographic standards is expected to reduce existing risks.
Upgrades should also facilitate the further development of second-tier networks. They help to unload the main blockchain, increase capacity and reduce transaction costs without compromising security. More efficient interaction between network levels will create additional opportunities to launch new decentralized services and scale up existing projects.
