The Belarusian government has approved the implementation of an international project aimed at increasing access to medical care in regions affected by the Chernobyl disaster. The corresponding decision was signed by Prime Minister Alexander Turchin.

China will provide funding for the initiative, allocating approximately $2 million. The United Nations Development Programme in Belarus will provide administrative support.

The project will focus on equipping the inter-district high-tech medical care center in Mozyr with modern equipment and medical supplies. The center, established on the premises of a local clinic, is focused on providing specialized care to residents of the region.

Additionally, measures are planned to raise public awareness of health issues and disease prevention, which should further enhance the effectiveness of the healthcare system.
