According to Bloomberg, Apple intends to introduce its own "smart" glasses with artificial intelligence in 2027. The main emphasis will not be on technical excellence, but on the aesthetics and comfort of a daily stocking. Insiders claim that the company is testing four different types of fixtures, from a massive rectangular Ray-Ban Wayfarer to a sophisticated oval model. This approach resembles the exit strategy of the Apple Watch, where a variety of designs contributed to widespread acceptance of the gadget.
A key feature will be the non-standard placement of cameras in the frame frames with recording indicators. They will serve as "eyes" for the Visual Intelligence function, which allows objects to be recognized, inscriptions to be translated and surroundings to be analyzed. Unlike AR-helmets, the glasses lack a screen: interaction is built on audio through built-in speakers and microphones, as well as voice assistant Siri. The device is positioned as an accessory that expands the iPhone’s capabilities and requires a continuous connection to the smartphone.
The body is made of a durable acetate in three colors: black, dark blue and light brown. The announcement is expected in late 2026 or early 2027, with sales starting in spring or summer 2027.
