Microsoft is preparing to release an update for Windows 11 that will include the ability to disable web results in the search bar.
The new "Show suggested search results" setting appears in the "Privacy and security" section, allowing users to remove intrusive Bing renditions without having to edit the system registry. Consideration is also given to the option of disabling individual results from the Microsoft Store.
In addition, Microsoft is introducing several performance improvements: the search and explorer itself will be faster, and mass file deletion will be 30% faster. The search will now begin after entering two characters. Windows Insider members can also move the task bar to the left, right or top side of the screen and resize it, which is expected in stable builds in the coming months.
