Conducting technical audits at enterprises enables the identification of hidden efficiency reserves and allows for cost reductions without the need for substantial investment. This was reported by the Scientific Research Economic Institute (NIEI) of the Ministry of Economy, citing the results of many years of practical experience.
As specialists note, even modern manufacturing facilities retain potential for optimization. On average, enterprises can reduce their annual expenses by at least 1–3% through organizational and technical adjustments that do not require large-scale modernization.
Experience demonstrates that significant results are achieved by fine-tuning production processes. Specifically, in the construction industry, schedule optimization has led to reduced energy consumption, while in the food manufacturing sector, the standardization of operations and staff training have resulted in decreased water usage.
Work in this area is being carried out with the participation of the National Center for Resource-Efficient and Cleaner Production, established in Belarus in 2015. The Center possesses the necessary infrastructure and expertise to conduct audits and implement solutions aimed at boosting efficiency.
Experts deem it advisable to expand the network of such centers across the country's regions. This would facilitate the development of lean manufacturing practices and environmental certification, as well as the adoption of circular business models—thereby enhancing the competitiveness of individual enterprises and the overall sustainability of the economy.
