Three tech giants - the quantum company OQC, financial holding JPMorgan Chase and semiconductor manufacturer AMD - have joined forces to launch a dedicated research hub in London, Quantum-AI. The new data center will serve as a hybrid computing testing ground, where the OQC GENESIS quantum system will work in conjunction with AMD’s classical infrastructure optimized for artificial intelligence.

The partnership’s main focus is on addressing financial sector applications. The participants intend to test quantum algorithms to optimize investment portfolios, and develop specialized language models that can enhance the efficiency of quantum schemes. Special attention will be paid to the potential of quantum-amplified neuronetworks (LLM) in finding new financial algorithms and the role of classical computing in creating scalable failover systems.

Company management sees this project as a step toward bridging the gap between theory and practice. OQC General Director Gerald Malalley said that there was a need to move from "isolated experiments" to secure corporate environments, and AMD Technical Director Mark Peathermaster emphasized that real progress is possible only with deep integration of quantum processors, AI infrastructure and high-performance computing (HPC). This initiative complements the global trend toward convergence between quantum technologies and machine learning, as evidenced by the Japanese companies' partnership in quantum computer photonics.
