Ondo Finance has announced the unexpected death of its founder and CEO, Nathan Allman. He was 32. In its statement, the company said Allman’s vision, humility and drive shaped Ondo’s mission to build a more open and accessible financial system. The cause of death was not disclosed, and the company asked for privacy for his family and loved ones.

Allman founded Ondo Finance in 2021 after working on Goldman Sachs’ digital assets team. Under his leadership, Ondo became one of the most visible companies in tokenized real-world assets, bringing traditional financial products such as Treasuries, yield-bearing instruments and equities onto blockchain rails. Its products include USDY, OUSG and Ondo Global Markets for tokenized equities.

Ondo said its president, Ian De Bode, will take over as CEO. De Bode has already been leading strategy, product and day-to-day operations for more than two years, which means the leadership transition will remain inside the existing executive team.

For the RWA sector, this is both a personal tragedy and a test of institutional resilience. Ondo remains one of the best-known names in tokenization, and its new leadership will now be expected to carry forward Allman’s mission of making financial markets more open, accessible and blockchain-native.
