The US regulator, the SEC, reached an agreement with Justin Sann to close a long-standing case. Rainberry, controlled by the founder of Tron, will pay a $10 million fine, after which all claims against Sana and the Tron Foundation and BitTorrent Foundation will be settled. Neither party has pleaded guilty, nor does it dispute the terms of the settlement agreement set out in a letter to the federal court in Manhattan.
The history of the conflict began in March 2023, when the SEC leveled charges against the entrepreneur and his structures for selling unregistered securities through TRX and BTT tokens, as well as market manipulation. A specific point was hidden payments to celebrities, including Lindsey Lohan and Jake Paul, who were accused of promoting the tokens without disclosing information about their rewards.
