Tesla electric vehicle sales in China rose 39.4% in May, reaching 85,982 cars

Sales of Tesla’s electric cars produced in China increased by 39.4% year on year in May, marking the sixth month of continued growth for the car manufacturer in the world’s largest electric car market.

According to data from the China Automobile Association published on Tuesday, 85,982 Model 3 and Model Y cars were shipped from the Shanghai plant. Compared with April figures, the volume of deliveries increased by 8.2%. This volume includes both machines for the domestic market of China and export shipments to Europe and other regions.

Shanghai manufacturing remains Tesla’s key export hub for all markets outside North America.
