According to the authoritative Financial Times, Qatar plans to restore liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplies to partner countries. Local authorities estimate that recovery will take from a few weeks to months.

Previously, LNG exporters from the Gulf countries had declared force majeure against a backdrop of geopolitical escalation in the region and refused to supply. The first to say this was the head of the Qatar Ministry of Energy, Saad al-Kaabi. According to him, current gas deliveries cannot be made while guaranteeing safety for the consignors.

However, the minister acknowledged that withholding LNG supplies due to force majeure could have a major impact on the global economy. Saad al-Kaabi believes that further development of escalation in the region could literally stop not only supplies but also extraction of energy carriers.

The price of oil could rise to $150 per barrel if geopolitical tensions continue in the Middle East. It was previously reported that India had "changed course" and, after sharply cutting back on Russian oil supplies, started to increase them.
