Ripple has received a pre-approval for its Crypto Asset Services Provider (CASP) license under the MiCA regulation, paving the way for regulated services in 30 countries of the European Economic Area. The Luxembourg regulator issued a "green light letter" to the company on 23 June 2026, although final approval still depends on meeting certain conditions.
After obtaining a full license, financial institutions, fintech companies and corporate customers will have access to the Ripple infrastructure for payments using cryptoassets and stablecoins through single integration. The system is capable of processing cross-transaction transactions, including collection, conversion and disbursement of funds for institutional users. The CASP license will operate in conjunction with the existing Ripple license as an electronic money institution (EMI), ensuring full compliance with MiCA requirements.
Ripple’s UK and European Managing Director Cassie Craddock noted the growing institutional demand for solutions for cross-border payments, settlement infrastructure, and tokenized assets. The head of the policy department, Matthew Osborne, expressed gratitude to the Luxembourg regulator for the clear regulatory framework. To date, the Ripple payment network has processed more than $100 billion in transactions across 60+ markets and holds over 75 regulatory licenses worldwide.
