On Thursday, August 20, 2026, SpaceX shares showed a decline of approximately five percent. The pressure on the quotes was caused by the appearance of an additional volume of securities on the market, which became possible after the completion of the next lock‑up period. The volume of shares made available for trading amounted to about seven percent of the company’s total number of securities in circulation.

This is the second group of shares to be freed from sales restrictions after the initial public offering. The decline on Thursday extended SpaceX’s series of losses to three consecutive trading sessions, indicating ongoing supply pressure in the short term.

Let us recall that after the IPO, SpaceX shares initially surged: from an offering price of $135, they rose above $225. However, a deep correction followed, and in less than two months the securities fell to a historical low of $108.27. Since then, the quotes have returned to the range of $130 to $140 and are currently trading near these values.

Thus, the completion of the second lock‑up period led to an increase in the number of SpaceX shares available for trading, which coincided with the resumption of the downward movement in stock prices.
