The Donald Trump administration is considering imposing tariffs of up to 100% on a number of imported pharmaceuticals. According to the Financial Times, the measures could be announced soon.

The restrictions will apply to companies that have not agreed to localize production in the US. Through these restrictions, the US government intends to encourage the transfer of production capacity to the country and reduce dependence on foreign supplies.

Furthermore, this will allow Trump to increase investment and production in the United States. Pfizer, AstraZeneca, and Novo Nordisk are among the companies that have signed agreements with the White House.
