The company Strategy did not purchase Bitcoin between August 10 and August 16, 2026. Instead of using the traditional scheme of raising capital to buy cryptocurrency, the organization used the funds from the sale of ordinary MSTR shares to operate within its own capital structure and increase its dollar reserve. Over the course of a week, Strategy sold more than 3.46 million shares through the ATM program and received $333.7 million in net proceeds after fees. The company’s Bitcoin position remains unchanged and still stands at eight hundred and forty thousand four hundred and forty‑seven coins..

Strategy allocated the largest portion of the raised capital to transactions involving STRC preferred shares. The organization redeemed one million three hundred and ninety thousand STRC securities for one hundred and thirty‑two and two‑tenths million dollars, with the estimated average redemption price being about ninety‑five dollars and twenty cents per share. Another fifty‑two and four‑tenths million dollars of the raised funds were allocated to finance dividends on these preferred shares. Thus, in total, $184.6 million was spent on the STRC buyback and dividend payments, which accounts for about 55.3 percent of all net proceeds from the sale of MSTR during the week. At the same time, the company did not sell preferred shares of other series.

The remaining $149.1 million was allocated by Strategy to replenish the dollar reserve, which accounts for about 44.7 percent of all net proceeds. The company’s total dollar reserve now reaches $4.8 billion. These funds are used for future dividend payments on preferred shares and for servicing interest on debt obligations. As of August 16, Strategy owned 840,447 bitcoins with a total acquisition cost of 63.36 billion dollars, and the average purchase price was 75,385 dollars per coin.
