The share of the ruble in Russia's foreign trade exceeded 50% for the first time

According to the results of 2025, settlements in rubles in Russia's foreign trade accounted for a record share, exceeding half of all transactions. This is evidenced by data from the Bank of Russia.

According to statistics, 53.7% of export revenues from the supply of goods and services were received in the national currency. A year earlier, this figure was 41.5%, which means a noticeable increase in the use of the ruble in foreign economic activity.

An increase in the share of ruble settlements was recorded in all areas. The most significant growth was noted in trade with the Caribbean countries, where the indicator rose by 43.4 percentage points to 97.6%. A significant expansion in the use of the ruble was also observed in settlements with African countries, where the share of the national currency rose by 34.7 percentage points to 88.3%.

The growth in the use of the ruble was also noted in other regions: in Oceania, the indicator increased by 22.4 percentage points (to 82.5%), in the Americas — by 20.3 percentage points (to 50.3%), in Asia by 13.4 percentage points (to 51.2%), and in Europe by 3.6 percentage points (to 64%).

The ruble also strengthened its position in the import sector, with its share in settlements exceeding 50% for the first time. The most noticeable dynamics were recorded in trade with the Caribbean countries, where the indicator rose by 48.4 percentage points to 79.1%.
