On June 8, 2026, unknown intruders compromised wallets associated with the Humanity Protocol - DeFi identification protocol based on zkEVM, which uses palm biometrics to verify identity. Damage estimated at approximately $31 million.
Platform founder Terence Cwak stated that the incident was allegedly due to a staff member’s compromise of locked keys, and urged users to refrain from interacting with the bridge and liquidity pools until the safety of operations is confirmed.
According to Specter analysts, the hacker took control of several dozen Humanity wallets and used H tokens to trade them through Kyber Network, PancakeSwap, and other decentralized exchanges. In addition, the attacker released 100 million H and deposited them on the BNB.
In response to the attack, the native H-token collapsed by almost 90% within 24 hours - from $0.7 to $0.08, and had partially recovered to $0.2 by the time of publication.
Oncheen researcher ZachXBT questioned the team’s official version, suggesting that the incident may have been due to a bad marketer. "I don’t believe the team’s version. It’s a convenient way for an active marketer to get out of the game," he said.
