The Whitechain blockchain platform is being reborn as a distribution‑oriented second‑layer network based on Ethereum. The project is part of the global fintech ecosystem W Group, which encompasses more than forty million users worldwide. The group also includes the WhiteBIT crypto exchange, whose audience exceeds ten million users. According to project representatives, the platform is designed to solve one of the biggest problems faced by Web3 projects – user acquisition and reach. Whitechain should combine on‑chain infrastructure with the distribution capabilities of an already established financial and crypto ecosystem, providing projects with a path to attracting an audience far beyond the blockchain itself..
Traditionally, layer‑two networks competed in terms of technical performance, scalability, and transaction costs. However, the project team noted that Whitechain places distribution at the core of its model. The network, relaunched on OP Stack, should help projects solve the tasks that often become the most challenging after a product is created: attracting users, ensuring liquidity, and maintaining stable activity. Vladimir Nosov, founder and president of W Group, as well as CEO of WhiteBIT, stated that the industry has created a complex infrastructure, but strong technology alone does not guarantee mass adoption. According to him, the team’s ambition is to provide developers with a reliable technical foundation and direct the ecosystem’s distribution power towards products ready for scaling.
The Whitechain relaunch supports W Group through a program structured around three areas for projects at different stages of development. The first focus area of the Builder Program is intended for teams at early stages and provides the opportunity to receive funding of up to three hundred thousand dollars for a project upon reaching agreed milestones. The second focus area, Strategic Ecosystem Deals, is aimed at already established protocols with confirmed TVL and an active user base, where support is tailored individually and may include assistance with contract migration and liquidity. The third focus area, Chain Expansion Support, is designed for existing multi‑chain protocols seeking access to an additional audience without exclusivity requirements. On August 18, Whitechain will launch a public testnet, accept funding applications, and offer a migration track for Web3 teams. As the mainnet launch approaches, it is planned to present the basic primitives of the first day, including a native decentralized exchange, an oracle, and a bridge.
