The Wrap, citing three informed sources, has revealed details of Tom Holland’s fee for his role in the film “Spider‑Man: No Way Home”. The actor’s base payment amounted to between $20 million and $25 million, which is exactly twice his earnings for his previous solo project about the superhero. However, the bulk of Holland’s income will come not from a fixed rate, but from a percentage of the box office receipts. According to the publication’s sources, the actor will ultimately receive at least one hundred million dollars. This is due to the fact that the film exceeded the two‑billion‑dollar mark in its first three opening weekends.
Insiders find it difficult to name the exact final amount, and the explanation for this is quite simple. Holland’s contract does not set an upper limit on additional bonus payments, so the longer the film remains in theaters, the more the lead actor will receive. A sharp increase in income occurred after the release of the film “Spider‑Man: No Way Home,” which grossed nearly two billion dollars at the height of the pandemic. It was then that Holland entered into a new agreement with Sony and Marvel Studios, which included a significant increase in the base rate and generous terms regarding participation in box office revenues.
The publication’s sources compared the actor to the new Robert Downey Jr. Such a comparison seems quite appropriate, since the actor who played Iron Man followed an almost identical career path, starting with five hundred thousand dollars for the first film in the franchise. For comparison, experts estimate that Holland could have been paid around ten million dollars for participating in the Odyssey project.
