Couple arrested in Australia for stealing $220,000 worth of LEGO

South Australian police arrested a man and a woman after they discovered a real stolen LEGO construction warehouse in their home outside of Adelaide. The confiscated collection of 15 pallets is valued at approximately A$320,000 (about US$220,000). Among the sets are Marvel, Pokémon, Animal Crossing and Star Wars.

The search took place on 1 April, but it was no joke: the operation began at 5:00 p.m. and lasted all night. To remove a huge number of police pieces, even the horse police had to be brought in. According to the investigation, all items were stolen from retail stores throughout the Adelaide region.

A 34-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man have been charged and released on bail after being detained.
