Velaura AI, a company specializing in chip development, announced that it has raised $110 million in Series A funding. As a result of the deal, the startup’s valuation exceeded one billion dollars. Investors supported the company’s technology, which can reduce energy consumption and operating costs in data centers that use artificial intelligence. The round was led by Seligman Ventures, with the participation of a new investor, Capricorn Investment Group, as well as existing partners Samsung Catalyst Fund, StepStone Group, and Maverick Silicon.

Velaura AI is developing low‑power chips and software solutions for data centers and so‑called physical AI applications, including robotics and autonomous systems. Earlier this year, the company announced Titan Core – its own chip design platform designed to improve efficiency and save energy under workloads. According to co‑founder and CEO Rajiv Hemani, the next era of AI will be defined not only by more advanced models but also by fundamentally better economics of computing resources. The funds raised will be used to accelerate product development, their implementation, as well as to hire engineers and expand the customer support team.

The startup is already in talks with three of the four largest cloud computing providers as potential clients, although Hemani declined to name them. According to him, the company’s technology has already been implemented in more than thirty million chips. Velaura’s business model includes an upfront payment for the technology and a royalty tied to the share of energy savings that customers receive. Managing Partner of Seligman Ventures, Umesh Padwal, noted that Velaura has every chance to benefit both from the growing electricity needs of AI data centers and from the growing demand for energy‑efficient computing systems in robotics.
