A major bitcoin holder who acquired cryptocurrency during the early activity of Satoshi Nakamoto has completed a complete sale of his assets. The wallet owner recently sent the last 1,000 bitcoins to Binance, the largest cryptocurrency exchange. Initially, this investor purchased 5,000 coins back in November 2013, shortly after the creator of bitcoin ceased to be publicly active. In that historical period, the exchange rate of the first cryptocurrency was about $ 332, so the total purchase cost him about $ 1.66 million.
The owner began to record impressive profits after more than ten years of careful storage of digital assets. The first major transfers to the Binance exchange were recorded by analysts back in November 2024. Subsequently, this large investor periodically sent new batches of coins to the trading platform as the market rate steadily increased. He transferred the last thousand bitcoins in several transactions within a few hours. This fractional approach has significantly reduced the negative impact of a mass sale on the current asset price. According to estimates by the Lookonchain analytical platform, the total revenue from the sale of these coins exceeded $ 436 million.
With an initial investment of $1.66 million, the final profit of an unknown investor turned out to be more than 260 times higher than the cost of its historical purchase. This case has become a prime example of long-term retention of digital assets with phenomenal financial results. Against this background, the profit-taking trend was supported by other well-known market participants. Earlier, the former head of the YouTube application architecture department at Google, Patrick Shew, the host of the popular TechLead channel, also publicly announced the full sale of all bitcoins belonging to him.
