A large consignment of goods intended for individuals was attempted to be imported into Belarus in violation of current legal requirements. According to the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Belarus, officers of the Operational Customs Service prevented the illegal movement of over 134,000 items.
A truck traveling from Russia and belonging to a Belarusian carrier was stopped in the Minsk region during special operations. An inspection revealed that the goods had not been delivered to customs inspection points.
The cargo included tobacco products, liquids with an odor similar to alcohol, dietary supplements, clothing, footwear, food products, car parts, and a wide range of other goods. Their preliminary value exceeds 2.5 million rubles.
Administrative proceedings have been initiated against the carrier under Article 13.36 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. An additional investigation is underway under Article 13.18 of the Code of Administrative Offenses regarding the circulation of tobacco products and liquids. Customs examinations have been ordered to determine the characteristics and value of the seized products.
