Aave has reached approximately $3.8 trillion in cumulative deposits and is developing a new legal ownership structure. The recent price pullback of Aave from a high of around $188 indicates that a breakout test is occurring, leading to a price increase at this level. Currently, Aave's price has fluctuated above the $176 level after reaching a new high of $188 and returning to $180.51. Thus, Aave's price remains above the previous resistance level. A break below $176 will mean that buyers need to demonstrate whether they can maintain the recent gains. The rising trend line connecting significant lows since September 16, when the token hit a low of around $111, continues to support the upward structure.
Nevertheless, the overall trend of Aave's prices remains bullish, where each breakout was accompanied by successful retesting. The RSI indicator is around 68 at the time of writing, indicating strong momentum without reaching an overbought state. Ultimately, holding above $176 will maintain the structure, while losing it could lead to testing support in the $156–158 range. Aave's deposit growth is impressive. Cumulative deposits began to grow slowly in 2021, and since the end of 2022, the growth has significantly accelerated. In 2023, the growth of cumulative deposits slowed, reaching approximately $1 trillion, indicating a significant decrease in new deposit activity. However, in 2024, cumulative deposits began to grow rapidly again, reaching $2 trillion, and then $3 trillion. Deposits remained strong in 2025 and 2026, and by mid-2026, cumulative deposits had increased to more than approximately $3.8 trillion.
Aave plans to transition to creating a legal entity to manage core assets. According to the protocol's proposal, a fund will be created that will own all of Aave's intellectual property. Token holders will not be able to acquire direct ownership of trademarks or domain names, nor can they file legal claims due to the current DAO governance structure. Phase 1 voting allows for the creation of this structure without transferring any existing assets. This means there will be no need to conduct votes regarding asset transfers until the necessary structure is created, allowing Aave to set the stage for future ownership transfers while limiting any immediate consequences.
