Aerodrome (AERO) demonstrated a price increase of 16% over the last 24 hours, accumulating a total of 84% over the past 180 days. Despite the short-term growth, AERO is still 73% below its all-time high of $2.40. This positive price movement is attributed to the increase in total value locked (TVL) and activity on decentralized exchanges (DEX). According to a report by DeFiLlama, TVL increased from $306.72 million to $337.73 million, indicating a capital influx into the market as investors contribute funds in anticipation of further profits. Additionally, trading volume on DEX surged nearly 50%, reaching $520.83 million, which also reflects significant growth in activity.
However, AERO faces serious financial hurdles as the protocol reports losses. According to DeFiLlama, the protocol's net profit was negative at $8.15 million in the current quarter (Q3 2026), marking the largest quarterly loss since Q3 2025. In the third quarter of 2026, the net profit of the tokens amounted to only $10.16 million, indicating a decline compared to previous quarters. The data shows that the current situation raises concerns among investors, which may lead to additional sell-offs, especially amid the overall growth of the cryptocurrency market.
It is also worth noting that there is growing pressure from the spot market, where positive net flow is observed, suggesting that there are more incoming than outgoing flows in the market. This leads to a buildup of negative sentiment around AERO, as a large number of tokens are being listed on exchanges, highlighting potential liquidity issues. If this trend continues, it may intensify pressure on AERO, increasing the risk of further declines. Thus, while the current dynamics indicate positive changes for AERO, economic indicators and market conditions could significantly impact future developments.
