Telegram released a major update on June 11, 2026, adding smart watch support to Apple Watch and Wear OS, as well as greatly expanding the capabilities of the bots. Bots can now send structured articles with headers, tables, formulas, media files, and image carousels, and the message length limit has been increased to 32,768 characters with "Show more" for long text.

Among other innovations are AI Guardians, AI moderators to automatically check group membership requests and channels that screen out spam and bots before they enter the community. Telegram also added the ability to insert links into survey response options and made the built-in browser work faster. All changes affect mobile clients and the Bot API.
