AI Researcher TheCoinClapper Predicts Wave of Attacks on Crypto Exchanges After Binance Hack

After the Binance hack, AI researcher known as TheCoinClapper warned that exchange hacks could become part of everyday life, and things would get significantly worse. According to him, he tried to warn people a week ago and believes the world is experiencing a serious security attack, which AI helped organize. The researcher claims that a large-scale cyberattack on the US power grid has been ongoing for several days, and authorities are hiding it from the public. In his opinion, in the face of the impending catastrophe, the Covid pandemic will seem like child's play, and he urged people to prepare for the worst. There are no independent confirmations of these claims – this is the researcher's position, not established facts.
His words echo warnings from Anthropic. Jason Clinton, Deputy Director of Information Security at the company, stated that the worst is yet to come for cybersecurity, and the industry will have to endure for about 18 months. He urged security managers to request resources from boards of directors for basic protection rather than implementing AI tools.
In August, Clinton predicted a "tsunami of vulnerabilities" and advised isolating critical infrastructure networks. He suggested two approaches: an air gap – physically disconnecting systems from external networks, and a data diode – a device that allows information to flow only one way and prevents attackers from sending anything back. The reason for that post was the guidance from the US National Security Agency on protecting programmable logic controllers – devices that control industrial equipment; the document mentioned attacks on Siemens controllers using AI. Additionally, Anthropic reported that over 67% of the company's blocked accounts used AI for cyberattacks.
