Alphabet shares rise amid plans to integrate AI models directly into silicon

Alphabet's shares have shown steady growth amid reports of a fundamentally new approach to creating specialized equipment. According to the authoritative publication The Information, the technology giant is implementing an experimental project codenamed Frozen v2. This innovative development involves embedding Gemini's flagship artificial intelligence architecture directly into the silicon structure of next-generation chips. Such a solution is designed to radically eliminate the traditional overhead costs of data processing that inevitably arise when using universal graphics or tensor processors. Integrating the model directly into the hardware allows you to significantly reduce the number of calculation steps and minimize the amount of information movement within the system.

It is expected that such an architecture will provide an increase in energy efficiency per token by six to ten times compared to current TPU solutions. This development is aimed at solving the acute problem of lack of computing power, which currently hinders the work of the company's internal research teams. Moreover, this resource shortage forces the Google Cloud division to periodically refuse to conclude new external contracts with corporate clients. The launch of these specialized processors into full operation is planned no earlier than 2028. At the same time, the new line will be developed in parallel with existing TPU products, creating a diversified portfolio of hardware solutions for various machine learning tasks.

The new architecture closely binds the hardware to Google's current artificial intelligence development ecosystem. Nevertheless, the company's engineers retain the ability to flexibly update system parameters by loading new model scales without the need for a complete physical replacement of equipment. Despite the optimistic market forecasts, Google's official representative brought an important share of pragmatism to the discussion of this initiative. He stressed that although internal teams are actively experimenting with highly effective innovations, not every successful laboratory project eventually reaches the stage of mass commercial production. Nevertheless, investors have already reacted positively to the ambitious technological prospects of the corporation.
