Amazon announced plans to invest AUD750 million, or approximately $535 million, in the construction of a new fulfillment center in Brisbane. Completion is scheduled for 2028.
The logistics complex will cover approximately 150,000 square meters. Once operational, it will be able to process over 125 million parcels annually and will be one of the largest warehouse complexes built in Queensland.
The facility will utilize robotic systems alongside human workers to sort and process packages. The company estimates that once fully operational, the center will create over 1,000 jobs.
Amazon has been actively implementing robotics in its logistics network since 2012, when it acquired Kiva Systems. By the end of 2025, more than 1 million robots were deployed within the corporation's operational infrastructure.
