Amundi Launches Tokenized Share Class of Core STOXX Europe 600 Fund on Ethereum

Amundi, one of the largest asset managers in Europe, announced the launch of a tokenized share class of its Core STOXX Europe 600 fund on the public Ethereum network. This announcement was made in November 2026 in collaboration with CACEIS. This move represents the transformation of a traditional index product into tokenized funds. It is important to note that this does not mean all 600 companies in the index have issued tokens, but rather that a tokenized share class of the fund has been created. The Core STOXX Europe 600 fund, which tracks a broad index of European stocks, provides investors with the opportunity to participate in highly liquid and diversified assets. Tokenization will be used to account for and transfer interests in this fund, potentially simplifying the process of operations for investors. According to the company, the traditional distribution model remains in place, and the new tokenized share class will be integrated into the existing operational model, allowing the preservation of previous working mechanisms.

Amundi emphasizes the potential benefits of tokenization, such as operational efficiency, faster settlement times, transparency, and improved asset distribution. These advantages could become key factors of appeal for investors, fostering increased interest in tokenized products. However, the success of the offering will depend on regulatory acceptance, the establishment of trust mechanisms, and the ability to manage legal and operational requirements.

This move follows previous Amundi initiatives related to tokenized money markets and stablecoin-based subscriptions. Amundi is testing various financial approaches and technologies, aiming to find the most effective solutions for its clients. How the new tokenized share class will be used by real investors will become the next important step in this area. Amundi has not yet published sufficient data to measure all the outcomes of its offering, including the speed and cost of subscriptions and redemptions, as well as rules for secondary transfers and the handling of corporate actions.
