The average cost of graphics cards rose by fifteen percent month-over-month. Nvidia products increased in price by exactly nineteen percent. AMD Radeon lineup models rose by just eleven percent.
The sharpest price increases were recorded for the most budget-friendly graphics card models. The RTX 5050 is selling for fifty dollars more than before. In India, the price of this model surged by 53 percent. The situation with the RTX 5060 looks even worse. The recommended retail price for this model is $300. Buyers in the US are paying $450 for it. That price exceeds the recommended retail price by 51 percent. Monthly growth amounted to exactly 32 percent in the US. India and Poland also showed very notable increases.
The situation with the RTX 5060 Ti deserves special attention. The gap between memory versions has turned into a genuine chasm. The 8 GB model rose in price by 24 percent over the month. Its current price exceeds the global recommended price by 14 percent. The 16 GB version has crossed the $700 mark. The global premium for this version has reached 53 percent. The difference between versions ranges from 50 to 62 percent. Choosing extra memory has become extremely costly for buyers.
The upper segment of the Nvidia lineup looks no better. The RTX 5070 rose in price by 20 percent month-over-month. Its average price exceeds the recommended retail price by 31 percent. The RTX 5070 Ti remains the third most overpriced card. Its price currently exceeds the recommended price by 44 percent. The RTX 5080 is selling at a 55 percent premium. The flagship RTX 5090 rose by another 20 percent. The average price in the US has reached nearly $4,900. That figure exceeds the recommended retail price by 145 percent. Buyers purchase the flagship for its 32 GB of memory and neural network capabilities. The RX 9070 rose in price by just 8 percent.
Gamers consider the flagship graphics card too expensive for gaming purposes. System requirements of modern titles should not demand such hardware. Everyday users simply will not be able to afford this accelerator. The graphics card market is in urgent need of price reductions. Manufacturers must increase supply volumes of their new chips.
