A wallet associated with Arthur Hayes, co-founder of the BitMEX crypto exchange and head of the Maelstrom investment fund, acquired 10.9 million ENA tokens worth $ 985,000. According to analysts at the Lookonchain blockchain service, the transaction was executed on the Paraswap decentralized platform using USDC stablecoins that were already on the address's balance sheet. The funds did not come directly from bank accounts and were not related to the purchase of fiat currency. In total, over the past five days, the wallets associated with Hayes have accumulated 22.64 million ENA tokens.
As part of this series of operations, the investor rebalanced his crypto portfolio. On August 1, he sold 6.16 million SYN tokens of the Synapse protocol worth about $ 658,000, after which he directed part of the released funds to purchase the first 3.05 million ENA. On August 3, the wallet was replenished with another 6 million ENA for about $525,000 at an average price of $0.09 per token. On August 5, an additional purchase of 2.69 million ENA was made for about $246,000 at an average price of $0.087.
Purchases were made immediately before and during the planned major coin unlock, which took place on August 5th. On that day, 171.88 million ENA (worth $15.36 million) entered the market, owned by early investors and the main developers of the project. Previously, according to Lookonchain, the investor-linked wallet also acquired 3,298 ethers worth about $6.39 million through major institutional trading platforms such as Galaxy Digital, FalconX, and Cumberland.
