With more than three months until the premiere of Avengers: Judgment Day, Disney has already recorded a remarkable result in advance ticket sales. The film company announced that U.S. pre-sales for the movie have surpassed $50 million. This achievement was reported by Disney's CFO, Hugh Johnston, during a presentation at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference. According to him, the film has become the first to collect such an amount in the U.S. domestic market approximately 100 days before its release. The premiere of Avengers: Judgment Day is scheduled for December 18, 2026.
The high demand for tickets is particularly noticeable against the backdrop of a long hiatus between new films in the main series. The previous installment, Avengers: Endgame, was released seven years ago and remains Marvel's most successful film in global box office among the studio's productions. Its total gross reached $2.79 billion, which also placed it second in the all-time highest-grossing films worldwide. In this context, the current pre-sale dynamics for Judgment Day raises expectations for future earnings, although the final result of the film will only be known after its release and run.
At the same time, the new film will have to compete with other major releases. In theaters, Spider-Man: New Day is still showing, which, according to reports, is approaching the figures of Endgame. Additionally, Avengers: Judgment Day will be released on the same day as Dune: Part Three by Denis Villeneuve. For the first three weeks of its run in the U.S., Villeneuve's film has secured exclusive IMAX screening rights. In response, Disney has prepared its own premium format, Infinity Vision, which aims to offer viewers an alternative to traditional IMAX screenings and maintain audience interest in the new Marvel film.
