On September 6, Binance Futures launched perpetual contracts tied to USDT for the tokens PONS and Hajimi. On the opening day, PONS rose by 24%, while Hajimi demonstrated an impressive growth of 248% when trading around $0.0584. Both contracts have a minimum contract size of 5 USDT and settle every four hours. PONSUSDT opened at 06:45 UTC, followed by HajimiUSDT at 07:15 UTC. Both products allow traders to take margin positions without the need to own the tokens themselves.
Despite a successful launch, there is some confusion regarding the maximum leverage. According to official data, PONSUSDT offers up to 20x leverage, while HajimiUSDT offers up to 3x; however, the contract specifications table indicates a maximum leverage of 3x for both tokens. This discrepancy requires clarification, as it may affect the margin levels and liquidation risks for traders taking positions. At the time of publication, Hajimi had approximately $30.3 million in 24-hour trading volume and an estimated market capitalization of $70 million.
The launch of the contracts occurred amid a sharp price increase for both tokens, and such interest may lead to further market fluctuations. While the contracts provide access to trading, they also increase potential liquidation risks, as margin trading can become highly volatile under unexpected market activity. Traders are advised to monitor their open positions and margin trading conditions to avoid sudden losses. A copy trading feature will also be available for the new contracts within the next 24 hours, which may increase their popularity among Binance users.
