Binance Resumes DOGE Withdrawals After Hack

Binance resumed DOGE withdrawals through the Dogecoin network following a major hack on October 29, 2026. Amid the restoration of operations, a Dogecoin community member under the pseudonym Mishaboar urged users to carefully check the transfer network and the status of their wallets.

Why Choosing the Right Network is Important

In an announcement on November 1, Binance included the native DOGE network as the first step in the phased restoration of withdrawals. The exchange also has Binance-Peg DOGE, a BEP-20 standard token on the BNB Smart Chain. It represents DOGE in another blockchain network but is not the native Dogecoin coin.

Mishaboar recommended choosing the Dogecoin network when transferring to a personal wallet if the wallet is intended for native DOGE. A mismatch between the selected network and the recipient's supported network can make funds inaccessible and require complex recovery.

“My recommendation remains the same: withdraw when and if you can, without rushing, and after verifying that you have good backups of your wallets and that the wallet you are using is secure,” Mishaboar wrote. In translation: “My recommendation remains the same: withdraw funds when and if you can, without rushing, ensuring you have reliable backups of your wallets and that the wallet you are using is secure.”

Before sending, it is worth checking the address, network, and backup access to the wallet. If in doubt, it is useful to first transfer a small amount. The availability of a specific asset withdrawal should be checked directly in the exchange interface.

What is Known About Binance's Recovery

According to preliminary data from Binance, attackers used fake interviews, infected software, and compromised employee credentials to gain access to the transaction signing infrastructure.

The exchange estimated the volume of affected assets at approximately $6.34 billion. By November 3, about $2.85 billion was frozen or intercepted. Binance also reported that it replenished 98% of the affected token assets using its own resources. This does not mean the return of 98% of the stolen funds.

The company announced the blocking of identified attack vectors and the involvement of independent experts to verify security. The published Proof of Reserves report allows verification of certain client balances but does not replace a full audit of all exchange risks.
