
In the third quarter of 2026, exchange-traded funds (ETFs) invested in Bitcoin attracted approximately $6.34 billion in net assets. This occurred against the backdrop of a significant rise in Bitcoin prices, which increased by 42.71%, marking its best performance for the third quarter since 2017. The funds ended September with net inflows of $2.65 billion, which is 25% lower compared to August, when inflows were $3.52 billion, and up from $172 million in July, according to SoSoValue data. The quarterly inflows offset about $5 billion in net outflows recorded in the second quarter. The current quarter has become the most successful for Bitcoin ETFs since 2026.
September ended on a weaker note: Bitcoin ETFs registered about $149 million in net outflows on Wednesday, breaking a nine-day inflow streak during which approximately $3.1 billion was attracted. Meanwhile, Ethereum ETFs attracted around $3.05 billion in the third quarter after net outflows of $714 million in the second quarter, while Ethereum increased by 71% for the quarter.
Among other altcoin funds, XRP ETFs attracted $308 million in the third quarter, increasing the total net assets to $1.79 billion. Additionally, Solana and Zcash funds recorded net inflows in September, amounting to $272 million and $246 million, respectively.
