The uptrend in the cryptocurrency market continues, having begun on August 19, 2026. Against this backdrop, Bitcoin has broken through the $75,000 level, and Ethereum – the $2,300 level. The weekly growth in positions is 18.8% and 25.5%, respectively. At the time of preparing this material, Bitcoin is trading above $75,400 – a rate last observed at the end of May 2026. Ethereum, in turn, has reached $2,366, which corresponds to the level seen at the beginning of May 2026. Other crypto assets from the top 10 by market capitalization have also shown positive dynamics, while Bitcoin is demonstrating high returns on the daily and weekly charts, even compared to smaller altcoins.
Thanks to the continuation of the uptrend, the market is facing a second wave of short liquidations. In 24 hours, losses amounted to $1.26 billion. The Fear and Greed Index has risen by another 13 points over the past 24 hours and is now deep in the “green” zone, reflecting growing investor optimism.
Bitcoin analyst James Check noted that market sentiment has completely changed. He considers the current growth to be a capitulation of the bears and a potential end to this phase.
The growth of high‑risk assets, and cryptocurrencies in particular, is primarily supported by the US Treasury’s decision to double the volume of long‑term bond purchases, which has led to a decline in the yields of these securities. Another factor is the shift in the process of forming the regulatory framework: the US authorities held a meeting with representatives of the crypto sector and called for the approval of the CLARITY Act framework bill.
