Bitcoin Holders Received eCash: What to Do with New ECX Tokens?

Bitcoin holders have received eCash, a fork that provides them with an equivalent balance of ECX tokens. The eCash network, created by Paul Sztorc, founder of LayerTwo Labs, was launched on October 29. This fork arose from Sztorc's dissatisfaction with certain views on Bitcoin's development. "We must actively sabotage the 'deglobalization' policy that is killing Bitcoin," he noted.

All Bitcoin holders who controlled their private keys at block 973728 have now received an equivalent amount of ECX. The value of the ECX token on CoinMarketCap is $32.63, with a trading volume of $355,000 over the past 24 hours. At the start of trading, ECX fluctuated between $40-50. "Users who actually pay transaction fees to miners ultimately benefit," added Sztorc. Holders who want to access the new tokens must use a wallet that supports eCash.

They must follow the process to separate ECX from BTC to avoid potential issues with double-spending in both networks. Currently, ECX tokens are not widely available for trading on major cryptocurrency exchanges, but NeoxEX has already opened deposits, withdrawals, and trading for ECX tokens, and CoinW announced plans to distribute ECX by the end of the year. Sztorc also added that if their fork replicates even a small fraction of the initial successes of Bitcoin Cash, eCash liquidity will be impressive. He urges developers to create useful applications to ensure demand for the new tokens. The future of eCash depends on the success of applications built on its platform and users' willingness to pay for them.

If developers implement experienced and user-friendly solutions, it could lead to increased popularity of ECX and ensure its viability in the market. It is believed that an important aspect of eCash's success will be the creation of independent sidechains, which will enrich the ecosystem with various functions and improve interaction among participants. Such innovations can open new horizons and opportunities in the world of cryptocurrencies, but recognition and acceptance from the community will be required.
