The first cryptocurrency ended the trading session with a loss of about one percent, dropping to around 64 thousand dollars. At the time of publication, bitcoin is trading around $63,800, showing a sideways movement. The overall digital asset market is also in a lull with a slight correction bias: over a seven-day period, the HYPE token fell by 6 percent, while Solana and XRP each lost 2 percent. Ethereum has remained virtually unchanged in price, indicating temporary market consolidation after recent volatility.
A paradoxical situation has developed in the traditional financial markets of Asia, where there was a sharp rebound after the sale. On the thirty-first of July, the South Korean Kospi index rose 17 percent, partially offsetting a two-day drop during which it fell back by more than 40 percent from its June peak. Shares of key technology companies showed strong growth: SK Hynix securities gained 22 percent, Samsung – 5 percent, and Taiwan Semiconductor - 7 percent. Digital assets have practically ignored this rally, which indicates the continuing decorrelation between the crypto market and traditional indexes.
The weakness of the cryptocurrency market could be influenced by several negative factors, including the quarterly report of Strategy, which announced plans to continue selling bitcoin, as well as reports of the theft of 594.48 bitcoins from Coldcard hardware wallets. Despite this, institutional interest remains: according to SoSoValue, on July 30, American spot bitcoin ETFs attracted $ 233.1 million, returning the weekly result to a positive zone. The bulk of the inflow was provided by BlackRock's IBIT fund, which raised $ 183.4 million, while spot Ethereum ETFs showed a significantly lower result of $ 13.3 million.
