American mining company Bitdeer is betting on independence by beginning construction of its own factory for producing proprietary Sealminer ASIC miners in Sparks, Nevada. Investments in this massive project are estimated at thirty-six million dollars, and the area of the new facility will be nearly nineteen thousand square meters. The commissioning of the facility by the end of this year will allow the production of up to ten thousand devices monthly and create about seventy new jobs for local engineers and technical specialists, becoming a significant contribution to the diversification of the regional economy and strengthening the country's technological sovereignty amid a global semiconductor shortage.

The decision to launch production was made against the backdrop of an unprecedented drop in Bitcoin mining profitability, with the spot hashrate price falling to historical lows of around thirty dollars per petahash. Following the April halving and a record increase in network complexity, miners' revenues have noticeably shrunk, forcing the industry to seek ways to optimize costs. In such harsh realities, only those operators survive who can provide themselves with cheap energy and the most efficient equipment. That is exactly why Bitdeer chose a strategy of strict vertical integration, developing and assembling its own machines to avoid dependence on third-party suppliers and control the cost of every mined coin throughout the entire lifecycle of the equipment.

In parallel with strengthening its production sovereignty, the company is actively transforming its business model by adapting data center capacities for artificial intelligence needs. In its latest report, Bitdeer announced an annual recurring revenue of sixty-nine million dollars from the AI Cloud division, clearly demonstrating the success of its diversification. Moreover, the company is in active negotiations to lease computing facilities in Tydal, Norway, following the global trend of miners transitioning to high-performance computing. This comprehensive approach allows Bitdeer not only to survive the prolonged mining crisis but also to secure a strong position in the rapidly growing AI infrastructure market, providing itself with a reliable foundation for future growth.
