BlackRock Lost $405.3 Million in Its Bitcoin ETF

The iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) ETF from BlackRock lost $405.3 million on Monday, marking the largest daily outflow since June 26, when investors withdrew $444.5 million. U.S. Bitcoin ETFs started November with $398.6 million in net outflows, according to Farside Investors. The Wise Origin Bitcoin fund from Fidelity (FBTC) attracted $6.7 million, partially offsetting the outflows.
The outflows continue the trend from October, when U.S. Bitcoin ETFs lost $515 million. Since the beginning of 2026, net outflows have totaled approximately $38 million.
“I wouldn’t interpret these outflows as a rejection of digital assets,” said Edwin Mata, CEO of Brickken, in a comment published on Monday. “Investors reduce their asset holdings when uncertainty rises, especially after events that raise questions about the security of market infrastructure.”
The outflows occurred during a period of increased volatility in the cryptocurrency market following the $6.3 billion hack of Binance. According to CoinGecko, Bitcoin briefly fell below $76,400 on Monday, the lowest since August. At the time of publication, it was trading around $76,600, down 3.7% over seven days.
Ethereum ETFs recorded about $140 million in net outflows on Monday—the sixth consecutive losing trading day, according to SoSoValue. In October, they lost a record $1.61 billion for the month.
