Bybit Expands Beyond Crypto: Stocks, ETFs, Payments, and AI

Co-founder and CEO of Bybit, Ben Zhou, introduced a new phase in the company's transformation from a crypto exchange to a comprehensive financial platform. The update was presented during the semi-annual 'Online Meeting with Ben' titled Make Your Move. According to Zhou, Bybit is launching trading of over 1000 US stocks and ETFs and is preparing to launch tokenized mStocks in collaboration with Mantle. "This time, the presentation went beyond the usual studio format and was held live in front of an audience," the company clarified.

Four years after entering the traditional financial market with contracts for difference (CFD) in 2022, Bybit became the largest crypto platform for trading such instruments, according to the company. The peak volume reached $100 billion. On October 12, Bybit launched stock trading for eligible users: more than 1000 American stocks and ETFs are available, trades are conducted in USDC with support for fractional shares and a 24/5 mode, including pre-market and after-hours trading.

In collaboration with Mantle, the company is developing mStocks—a tokenized product based on stocks, with a launch planned for November 2026. mStocks will be backed by underlying stocks on a 1:1 basis. There are plans for round-the-clock conversion between securities and mStocks on Bybit, as well as trading on decentralized exchanges through AMM liquidity pools in the Mantle network. Converted mStocks can be transferred to Bybit's Unified Trading Account (UTA) and used as collateral.

In June, the company launched IPO Express—access to selected IPOs at the placement price through tokenized representations; the first asset was SpaceX. The TradFi line on the platform includes more than 600 products: stocks, ETFs, indices, commodities, and currency pairs. The trading volume of perpetual TradFi contracts exceeded $180 billion; among the latest launches are currency perpetual contracts and options on perpetual contracts, the first in the industry. Bybit is also developing perpetual instruments related to computing infrastructure for AI and commodities.
