The Chukotka Autonomous Region offered to participate in gold mining.
This was stated by the deputy governor Anton Yaremchuk on the television channel "Belarus 1". At a meeting with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko on March 30, the Russian side provided a map of vacant plots from the undistributed fund of assets that may be of interest to Belarusian companies.
There is currently virtually no trade between Belarus and Chukotka, so the parties are committed to developing bilateral cooperation in various sectors, including mining. Chukotka is famous for its gold deposits. Yaremchuk expressed hope that the transferred materials will receive a response from Minsk.
